Adding Decimals

On Tuesday week 4, me and my maths group had to do a screencastify video to show that we can solve the equation. I was pretty nervous because I had just learnt the strategy to solving it. After brain break Koka Ngaire gave everyone in our maths group a piece of paper with a problem to solve my one said 754.023 + 576.978. Me and Harry went up to the room 6 and 7   break out room. First I did the question in my book and answered it correct so I get it right on the screencast video. Click below to see my video!

Back to School

So four weeks ago we started school and now i'm a year six. We have a new class which is way better and we got new carpet. I was actually pretty excited to start school because I broke my collarbone mountain biking so I didn't have much to do. But it was different with the old year six students gone.

On week two we walked to Hamanatua stream and ate some food there. We got some time to play at the beach too. On the same week we walked up Maungaroa (a really big hill) and that was tiring we ate some food at the top with the nice view. The reason we went to these places is because we wanted to walk our pepeha  and we went to our marae.

Maths Screencastify

Last term, we had to find the fraction of a whole number. At the start, I had no idea what was going on. But the more we looked into it, the more I got the strategy! By the end of the term I got everything right apart from my basic facts. In term 2, we had to do a screencastify to prove that we can solve the problem When I did my screencastify, everything was perfect, apart from getting numerator and and denominator mixed up. Here is my screencastify.

Blue Penguin walk survay

This week we have been learning about the smallest penguin in the world. The little blue penguin lives in NZ. So we decide to make a survey to drop off at Douglas st and Moana road because they are close to the beach.

After lunch on wednesday we got ready and the the teacher handed us too surveys each. When we got to Hamanatua stream we split in to 3 different group I was second in line and my group went down Moana road the other to groups went down Douglas st. Max was in front of me and he put his too surveys in then it was my turn luckey for me because there were two letter boxes right next to each other. And I put my two in. When I got to the back of the line koka Ngaire handed me and max too more surveys. When we got to the front of the line again we put our surveys in the mail box. By the time everyone had put 4 surveys we were at house like 54 so we went pretty far. Then we had to walk all the way back.

Overall it was really tiring and it was fun making the trucks honk. When we got back to school I was desired and we got to go home straight away.
