New Class

So on Tuesday we moved to our new class which is Room one, Room two and the toilet combined. That might sound like a lot but there are alot of kids in MLH. We started moving in the morning and we were finished around morning tea. I think that the new class is way better and it isn't even done yet. Meanwhile the teacher and some kids did some stuff. Matua Beau took the rest of us to play a game outside. Like I said before this new class is way better!

Kapa Haka 2020

 On Wednesday we had Kapa Haka. I don't really like Kapa Haka and I was third row so that was pretty good. So we got on the bus and we practised all the songs on the bus and Rasmus was sitting next to me,  he screamed all the songs into my ear.

We arrived and I got off the bus and went to the little place where we practised. Then we got called up and we went next to the stag so when the guy stopped talking we could go up and start. And that is what we did I was pretty nerves but I went up there and gave it my all.

/Everything went well and we watched wai and nui purform and they did well everyone went to school happy I think so.

Interschool Athletics

One week ago I had interschool athletics. I was there for the two hundred meter sprints and that was last so I had to wait the whole day in the boiling hot sun. I was mucking around for about two or three hours and tons of wainui kids got placings. Finally it was time for my race but the girls went first. After the girls went they put us in our rows. I had a pretty good spot. They said ready set go! and I ran my hardest! I came second and came into the finals. Me and Jaxon had made it into the finals and over all I came second to last and Jaxon came second.

Term 4

 This week we had athletics training. I went to tons of different stops but I only got to do my favorite one once which is long jump I got third last year and I could have came 1st but I did something wrong. Any way first we got warmed up then we had a couple goes into the sand thing. The teacher said that we are going to have a comp now. Troy went first so he was coming first. Kids kept on going until it was my turn. I went and did not beat anyone then I went again and did not beat anyone so that was sad.

So term 4 is really scuffed because week one we had a butterfly show. Week 2 it is year six camp but I am not a year six. Week 3 we have labor day on Monday then athletics day on Tuesday which I'm pretty hyped on that. On Wednesday we have speeches and I am not looking forward to that. Week 4 we have school photos. Week 5 we have the crafts fair. Week 6 we have kapa haka festival. 

Cross-country

 On monday it was cross-country and I came to school ready. I grabbed my drink bottle and headed down there with all the year six and year fives. We watched the year sixs run. Then it was the year fives turn which is me.

We waited until there was a gap so we could start. It was time to go, Mr Shand said ''On your marks GO!!!!'' I ran as hard as I could I was going pretty good until Rori the sweat came and past me by a mile. I was coming 6th I'm pretty sure. The race to the top continued I was on my second lap now Reef tried to trip me up but he tripped up. 

I was around the end and Nalu and Tre were still in front of me. I could hear the crowd getting louder and louder until I saw people cheering for me. I Ran as fast as I could and passed Nalu,Tre and Harry then I passed the finish line I'm pretty shore I came forth or fifth. On the way back Reef dropped his drink bottle of the bridge. 

Movie and pj day

 On Wednesday it was a movie and PJ day I couldn't be bothered wearing my pj's so I just watched the movie. Some days ago we got to vote for a movie I voted for The Sleepover the other choices were, How to train your dragon and Pets united.

I arrived at school on Wednesday ready for a movie, popcorn and pizza. They announced what the movie was it was The Sleepover. I was pretty happy because that is the movie I voted for. Before the movie started everyone got their popcorn. Then we started the movie it was pretty exciting but then we got to go outside for morning tea. 

When we got back we finished the movie and after the movie everyone got pizza I ordered Hawaiian pizza and I couldn't finish it so I put it in my lunch box. Overall I liked the movie but I have already watched it so that made it a bit boring. 

LTP

 This week Max,Kobe,Rori,Reef and I went to cardboard nation for LTP when we got there the teacher told us some stuff that I can't remember. After that we ran to the pile of cardboard we grabbed like 4 of the hard cardboard pipes and some cardboard boxes.

We went to work outside because it is way to cramped in there and outside is my OG spot. Then we got straight to it we were making a tank that moves and shoots. At the start I was basikal doing nothing so I decided to make a gun I got a pipe that was cut on a angil and raped a rubber band around it and grabbed a barbecue stick for amo. I tried it out it worked but it was a bit wonky so I put a rubber band on the end for weight.

It worked even better and I could pop your eye out. Overall I found it really fun and I am going to finish it next week so if you want to see it finished come back next week.

The Beach

 On Monday afternoon instead of learning through play (LTP) Moana cinderkit went to the beach. I took off my shoes and we started to head down to the beach. When we got down there I found a shovel from the little kids that went down there elyer.

Kobe a bunch of the boys and I started to dig a hole because why not. After awhile they started to to throw sand balls at me. So I had no other choice but to betray them but man was that a humongous mistake. Because I got hammered by sand balls over and over again and some were really hard.

Finally it was time to go back to school. Overall I found it pretty fun and a bit anonig and I want to give a quick shout out to Oliver for making me some sand-balls!

Science Group

This week I had science with my science group(i have my science group nearly every week). The science group is a small amount of MLH students and I got chosen to be one of them. In the science group we get these science boxes with science experiments in them. 

This week we got science kit called Sea and Me. We had to test water and see where it is best water to grow mussels there was X on one side of the haber and Y on the other. Of course we didn't go to muscles farm so we had little samples of water and I do not know were that stuff came from. But anyway we had these little pieces of paper and we have to put a little drop of water and then we had to observe what just happened. First we did Y and it was bad for the muscles there so we did X and the water was perfict there.

We did another experiment but I don't have enough time to write that. So overall I found the it pretty fun.

Level 2 Covid-19

8 days ago everywhere in NZ moved to level 2  n because of covid-19 every, but in auckland it's another story, Auckland moved to level to level 3 because they were getting outbreaks that the government doesn't know were they came from. Any way that means that Gizzy moved in to level 2 so now we have to use hand sanitizer and we have to social distance. But I always forget to social distance and use hand sanitizer. Level 2 hasn't really affected my learning though.

Makey Makey

On Monday we got the choice to go to Room 1, Room 3, Room 2 and Room 4 for Learning Through Play (LTP). This week Kobe and I went to Room 2 for Makey Makey. (Makey Makey is a little thing that you have to plug in to your chromebook and it has seven little cords that have little clips that can hook on to stuff and the and they have to be clipped onto the Makey Makey. Makey Makey allows everyone to be an inventor it works with electricity). First we got a bit of a growling because some of the Makey Makeys where a bit broken. Once we got set up the teacher gave us our first challenge it was a tiny bit boring so I'm going to go straight to the fun one. It wa a tin foil piano. Kobe and I got straight to it we tried and tried until we got it.We played with it for a while until we had to pack up. After we packed up the teacher told us to go to our class.

Math-Whizz

On monday this week we started this thing called Math-whizz. The teacher gave us this little piece of paper with our username and password. We had to glue it in our math book. Then we had to get our chromebook and search up Math-whizz the we put our username and our password. And just like that I was signed into math-whizz. We had to do this little test so the app can see what level we are at. After two days I unlocked the place where you can buy animals and stuff like that I bort a Jaguar and a Jaguar bean bag.

Learning Through Play

Learning through play is basically PBL. There are four different options the first one is cardboard nashon. At cardboard nashon you make stuff out of cardboard. Then there is junky monkey, at junky monkey you break toys and remake them in a different way and do stuff like that, I'm pretty sure you do that there. Makey makey is like this thing that allows everyone to be a inventor. Planit construction is wear I went and we made butterfly knifes and drones obviously they weren't real. And that's what Learning through play is.

Fire

On the first day of the holidays my uncle that used to live opposite me came running into my property shouting fire, fire. Then he knocked on the door super hard because it was locked. I rushed to my brothers room to wake him up. Meanwhile my mum went to the door to let him in. He said his house is on fire.

My mom was so stressed out that she forgot how to call the fire engine so I had to remind her. A bit later the rest of the family came in meanwhile I ran to the window to see the fire. There were fat flames everywhere I got some footage on my gopro. Then I ran back to the living room there were some people in there checking on them.

The fire engine came they started to calm the fire down until the fire was gone but there was still tons of smoke. My dad and my uncle where looking for a house to move into for now. They found the perfect house it was Reef's old house. Before I knew it they got tons of furniture and clothes and they moved to the new house.  It was so lucky that everyone was safe.

Matariki activity

This week we did a Matariki activity it was exciting,hard and challenging. If you want to know how I got thru this activity you are on the right text. 

Now I am going to tell you how I got thru it first I got a piece of paper with all of the puzzles then I got my pencil. Finally I started to collect all of the information from the 15 cards hidin moana learning hub and then writ the information on the puzzle pieces.

After I put all of the information on the puzzle pieces I started to colour in it took awhile to colour in when I was done colouring in I grabbed the scissors to cut out the puzzle pieces and cutting out those things took way to long. After all of cutting it was time to ashily do my puzzle. I glued all of the pieces together druw some stars and writ my name on it!

Bubble art

We gathered around Koka Holly to find out how to make bubble art. FIrst you get a black paper and a
white pastel. After that you find a circle object around the class, then you trace around the circle with a
white pastel. Finally you can make a pretty fat line on the edge of your circle and then do the same on
the opposite side of the circle. Now the fun part ,get some colourful pastels and draw lines on the edge
of your circle which is now a bubble!

Now it's my turn to make bubble art. I went to get a piece of paper and a white pastel, then I went to find
a circle object. I went into Moana 2 and I saw something straight away. It was a circle thing that holds
pens. I got out my pastel and traced around it and I got a perfect circle. Then I drew the pretty fat lines
on the edge of the circle. I was saving the colors for later. I found some other things and traced around and
then I did the same thing.

Before I knew it it was pack up time so I got all of my stuff together and put my white pastel back.
Then the bell rang and the teacher let us go. I think it was fun but it was sad that I didn't get to finish.

Discovery

I was standing on the top of the skate ramp about to drop in, I pushed down my front foot and started to go down the skate ramp. I was getting ready to do a trick on the other side of the ramp. I did a fat disaster (A disaster is a skateboarding trick) and sadly I slid out. But I got right back up to try it again.

I was standing at the top of the ramp again. I was waiting for my turn. Finally it was my turn. I got my skateboard ready and then I put my feet on my board. I pushed my front foot down and got ready to do a disaster on the side. My front wheels started to get some air then my back wheels popped off the coping. I was high up in the air then I came down and landed smoothly and safely.

After I landed that trick I was feeling pretty good. Then I put a ramp by the mini ramp and tried to 360 on to the ramp. But sadly I didn’t manage to pull it off and before I knew it, Discovery was over.

first week back at school

First week back at school after 8 weeks of lockdown. I was feeling pretty nervous and excited but I couldn't wait to see my friends and to get away from my brother. Then the bell rang. I ran to my class room and put some hand sanitizer on then I sat on the mat.

Then the teacher told us what we will be doing for the next few weeks and it turns out that we are doing the same type of learning that the teachers sent us in lockdown to settle back into learning. After that we got right into work which was kind of difficult. But after one or two days I got used to it.

At the end of the week I was feeling super happy after seeing my friends and getting to play on the field with my friends. It was good to have some teachers around.

swimming sports

I woke up thinking it's a normal school day then realised its swimming sports today so I popped my on my clothes and had breakfast then I drove to school. I played with my friends for a while until the bell rang. Then I went into class and did all the normal class stuff until teacher told us it is time to go in the bus.

We went in the bus I sat next to Max my best friend it took awhile to get there but eventually we got there. We hoped out of the bus and the thirst thing I saw lolly shop my mouth was watering. But we just walked past it then we went to get changed after that we went to sit on these masiv block things. The weird thing is that I signed up for backstroke but they didn't call my name and to do it. I talked with my friends for a while and then I got called to do breaststroke I had to wait for while and then It was my turn. I was feeling nervous I was standing on the box then my race started I went sweaty sweat mode and came 2nd to last. Which is good for me, then we got packed up and left when we got back to school we did our blog post.


Overall I think I did pretty good and It was pretty fun. the only bad thing was that I didn't do backstroke.

Back to School

Back to School 2020

Wow what a great start in the year in MlH. We got different words and we had to find somebody who's word that matched your word and when you got your buzz group. We did tons of games in our buzz groups.

Then we started quick writes the first topic was cheese VS chocolate.  I like cheese best. What do you think is better write in the comments below.

We started going to the pool because swimming sports is coming up and first we practice free style.  I think I'll do ok at the swimming sports.

After that we all got a little piece of paper and we had to cope a picture on a midget piece of paper and then when you add everybody's pics together it adds up to a big picture.

I am looking forward to be in MLH because the learning is different.
